A message from the Region Lead Volunteer

We hope you are all enjoying the summer holidays, and that those of you who have got away to camp had a great adventure!

A special mention goes to the 54 young people who represented West Region at the Blair Atholl International Jamborette, along with all the leaders who gave up their time to lead and support through the training camps and attended the camp in various roles. It was a fantastic two weeks of adventure, friendship and fun.

As we start to think about the new term, we hope you’re feeling refreshed and ready for what’s ahead. Whether you’re planning your first session back or gearing up for a busy autumn of events, we’re looking forward to another great year of Scouting across the Region together.

Explorer Programme

Explorers has had its biggest refresh in over 20 years. The new programme was co-designed with more than 3,000 young people and volunteers, and now focuses on three core pillars — wellbeing, skills, and adventure.

The old programme remains available until 31 August 2027, so there’s time to transition, but resources are available now to help your unit get started

Celebrating 120 Years of Scouting – West Region Camp 2027

2027 marks 120 years of Scouting, and we want to celebrate in style!
We’re planning a Regional Camp (30th June – 4th July) open to all sections, bringing together young people and leaders from right across West Region for adventure, activities and celebration – all within the Region.

Planning is in the early stages, and we’d love to know who’s interested in taking part before we go any further. Please let us know using the form below.

Save the date – Founders Day

Founder’s Day is a chance for us to come together and reflect on our shared values, celebrate everything Scouting means to us, and recognise the incredible difference our volunteers make every day.

We are planning a Regional Founder’s Day Service for Saturday 27th February 2027. For now, please save the date. Further details will be confirmed soon, but it will be held in the Paisley & District area.

We hope to see as many of you there as possible.
