Monthly Update – June 2026

| Important Announcements

A message from Regional Lead Volunteer – Blair Ross

This is the first of our new Regional update emails that we are developing to keep you up to date with important information, news, and events across the Region.

Communication was discussed at all of our recent meet and greet events where we travelled to all of the Districts to listen to your feedback and ideas. We hope that this summary email will help share the information you require and will be used alongside our social media and website.

You are receiving this as you have a role within West Region, if you would like to unsubscribe please use the link at the bottom of the email.

Volunteers’ Week

Although Volunteers’ Week has now passed, the appreciation we have for every volunteer across West Region is felt all year round, and we wanted to take a moment to say thank you.

Every week, you dedicate your time, energy, and enthusiasm to provide incredible opportunities for young people. Whether you are leading sections, organising events, supporting behind the scenes, managing administration, fundraising, or helping in countless other ways, your contribution makes a lasting difference.

Because of your commitment, thousands of young people across our region are developing confidence, learning new skills, making lifelong friendships, and experiencing adventures they may never have otherwise had. These opportunities simply would not exist without volunteers like you.

We recognise that volunteering often means giving up evenings, weekends, and personal time, while balancing work, family, and other commitments. Your dedication and passion do not go unnoticed.

On behalf of West Region, thank you for everything you do. Thank you for your leadership, your support, and your belief in helping young people gain skills for life. West Region is stronger because of you, and we are incredibly grateful for all that you do.

๐Ÿ“… 1st July ยท Bishopton Scout Hall

Networkers, you are invited to a BBQ and Learn on 1st July from 7.30pm at Bishopton Scout Hall.

What’s in it for you: free food and chance to take part in some activities.  A chance to see an example of how those activities are run so that you can deliver them to young people. Material to take away to aid with programme delivery locally if you’re involved.

What’s in it for the Learning Team:  A chance to meet you all, finding out what you need from future learning events, a change to find out if you might be able to contribute to some of the learning team’s programme.
