For many, the activities undertaken in Scouting are the biggest fun! Whether that be climbing walls, low ropes, Jacobs Ladder, archery or many others, there is something in Scouting for everyone.

Every year Scouting helps 400,000 young people in the UK enjoy new adventures; to experience the outdoors, interact with others, gain confidence and have the opportunity to reach their full potential. And it’s not just young people who can get in on the action. Working alongside our youth members are thousands of adult volunteers, with a huge variety of roles and opportunities available.

The role of the Regional Adviser (Activities) is to support and guide adults and help them deliver exciting and adventurous activities to young people.

Jeremy Game is West Region’s Adviser (Activities). He moved to Scotland 25 years ago to take up the roll of Activity Manager at the Scout Activity Center in Lochgoilhead and was a key part of Scottish Headquarters’ full time team.

For the last 14 years Jeremy has held many roles in Scouting, including UK adviser for hill activities and Scottish HQ Hill Adviser.

Jeremy’s role involves providing training opportunities to people who want to learn how to run various activities in Scouting. It is important that no leader in the Region struggles with the provision of an adventitious activity for their young people. This also includes ensuring that the group activities are provided within the remit of the Scout Association in terms of health, safety and learning.

Jeremy is there to provide full support and if he can’t help you with a query, he will know somebody who can!
