Paisley and District
Paisley and District has 11 groups covering the areas of Neilston, Barrhead and Paisley.
It is the largest co-educational youth movement within the area providing adventurous activities to both girls and boys aged 6-25 years. The thriving sections provide fun, friendship and adventure to young people supported by a large team of wonderful adult volunteers.
Within the District you will find a Duke of Edinburgh Group and one of the largest Scout Networks within Scotland.
The groups within Paisley and District are supported by the District Team, headed by a District Commissioner. The District Team has strategic oversight of Scouting in the area. It is aided by the District Executive Committee, which is responsible for the management of the District – including fundraising and financial administration, supervising the administration of Groups, appointing sub-Committees and presenting the annual report. They are the trustees of the District. There is also a Scout Active Support which is groups of adults who support Scouting in a flexible way. The District’s Scout Active Support Unit mainly focuses on providing catering support for District events.
Many of the groups within Paisley and District have their own premises which means a number of halls are available for rent to serve the whole community.
