You’ll climb the ship’s rigging\, scale the mast high above the deck and take in incredible views of the waterfront before making a thrilling zipline descent back to the shore.This will be an amazing day to show Scotland what Scouting is all about\, challenge yourself\, have lots of fun and raise money to support more young people across Scotland to join the adventure of Scouting. \nReady to take on the challenge?Spaces for the experience are limited\, so make sure to sign up quickly before you miss out. \nLocation: RRS Discovery\, Discovery Point\, Dundee \nEvent Date: 6th September 2026 \nFundraising Target: £250We’re asking all participants to pay a £30 to secure your spot. For full details and to register\, please visit the original event page: https://scouts.scot/event/the-big-birthday-adventure/ \nThe Big Birthday Adventure will bring Squirrels\, Beavers and Cubs from across Scotland together for a national weekend of adventure\, camping and celebration. \nThis special event marks three major milestones:5 years of Squirrels40 years of Beavers110 years of CubsSquirrels\, Beavers & Cubs will enjoy a programme of outdoor adventure\, creative activities and traditional Scouting skills\, delivered in partnership with the team at Fordell Firs.Alongside the activities\, there will be plenty of birthday celebration moments\, bringing everyone together to recognise the incredible impact these sections have had on Scouting across Scotland. \nJoin the Volunteer TeamWe’re looking for enthusiastic Young Leaders and Adult Volunteers to help bring The Big Birthday Adventure to life. Whether you enjoy supporting activities\, working with young people or helping things run smoothly behind the scenes\, there’s a role for you. For more information and to apply\, please visit the Volunteer Team Application Form here. \nWhat to ExpectThe Big Birthday Adventure will feature a fun and active programme of outdoor experiences\, giving young people the chance to try new activities and meet Scouts from across the country. \nActivities may include things such as: \nClimbing \nArchery \nOrienteering \nFire lighting \nBackwoods cooking \nLow ropes \nTeam challenges \nCreative and traditional Scouting activitiesAnd of course\, no Scouting celebration would be complete without a campfire and some birthday surprises along the way. \nSection AttendanceCubs and Beavers will take part in a residential camping experience. Packs and Colonies attending should bring their own tents for sleeping throughout the event. The event will be fully catered\, allowing leaders to focus on enjoying the experience with their young people.Squirrels will attend for a Saturday daytime experience\, taking part in activities before returning home later that day. \nArrival and departure times for each section are as follows: \nCubs – Arrive Friday evening and depart Sunday afternoonBeavers – Arrive Saturday morning and depart Sunday afternoonSquirrels – Arrive Saturday morning and depart Saturday afternoon \nCost to attend the event \nParticipant \nGroup Volunteer / Young Leader \nCubs£80 per Cub£35 per volunteer \nBeavers£55 per Beaver£20 per volunteer \nSquirrels£30 per Squirrel£5 per volunteer \nBookings for the eventTo allow as many Scout Groups as possible to take part\, applications must be submitted by Scout Groups\, with one application per section per group. Sections attending the event are limited to the following maximum sizes: \nSection \nMaximum Young People \nCubs \nUp to 16 Cubs \nBeavers \nUp to 12 Beavers \nSquirrels \nUp to 12 SquirrelsIf your group runs more than one section of the same type (for example two Cub Packs)\, only one application may be submitted for that section. Groups do not need to bring the full number but cannot exceed the maximum size for their section.Applications are now closed. Successful groups will be informed via email.Please note that applications are not allocated on a first-come\, first-served basis. DESCRIPTION:First Response training in Greenock & District – Location TBC. \nTo book onto this course please contact Lesley Crumlish – lesley.crumlish@westregion.org.uk \nFirst Response is the minimum first aid requirement for volunteers in Scouting. It covers the skills and knowledge necessary to manage an incident and provide basic first aid. \nFirst Response has been designed to cover key medical emergencies and conditions relevant to Scouts and Girlguiding\, supporting members from Squirrels through to Adults. \nThe content is regularly reviewed based on current first aid practice and incident reporting to Headquarters to make sure it remains valid to the movement. First Response is a minimum requirement. Activity rules (POR) and local risk assessments will highlight if and when further first aid skills or qualifications are required. \nDiscover the content in First Response

SUMMARY:The Scottish National Scout Regatta

For full details and to register\, please visit the original event page: https://scouts.scot/event/the-scottish-national-scout-regatta-2/ \nThe Scottish National Scout Regatta is an annual event for Scouts\, Explorers\, Network and Leaders. It is open to any Scottish Scouting member who is over 10. You don’t have to be a Sea Scout or have been to a regatta before. It is about taking part\, having fun\, socialising\, making new friends and getting wet.\nThere are opportunities to take part in different water events as well as a range of land activities. You don’t have to enter every event but you should have previous experience for the events you’re entering. The ethos of the regatta is all about giving it a go and having fun.\nThere are there are different watersports such as sailing \, canoe\, kayak and paddleboarding. Each event will be split into three different age groups\, Scouts\, Explorers and Network/Leaders. \nSailing – single-handed and crewed \nPaddling- Kayaks\, Open Canoe and Paddleboard\nWhen not competing on the water there are lots of other activities on offer\, such as high ropes\, bushcraft\, archery and more. There will also be evening entertainment on Saturday night\, as well as an evening reception for the leaders.\n*Unfortunately we cannot take individual bookings\, group bookings only* \nCost & How to Book?\nCost and booking information will be confirmed in due course.
