Our New Website Goes Live!
Posted on 7 February 2016
We are absolutely thrilled that the new website for West Region Scouts is going live today after such hard work and determination from ourselves at Scout Websites and the fantastic Regional team.
We were approached by West Region with the task of building a functional, responsive and exciting WordPress website to replace their current one. Alongside looking the part, the website also had to cater to the Region’s main aims; these included recruiting volunteers and new members, and providing information to current members through the avenues of news, events and resources.
We were extremely pleased when we found out West Region had chosen us to take on this project. We believe this was down to excellent communication, understanding the brief from the beginning, and our passion for Scouting: we wanted to make the website an amazing place for Scouters and non-Scouters to find the information they needed. The Region also needed to push adult training, so we developed a bespoke calendar showcasing the dates that was easy to find and use. Not only this, but as part of the project we launched a new email system allowing the Regional team to have their own personal West Region Scouts accounts.
It has been an absolute pleasure working with the whole Regional team and we have thoroughly enjoyed working alongside them on this project. The team have been brilliant with providing feedback and content, and we’re really proud of having them onboard. West Region Scouts is our first Regional site to go live and we can’t wait to show you the results.
Regional Commissioner Stephen Allan said: “I am delighted with our new website and all the work that has gone into preparing it. It is a website that is fit for Scouting in the 21st century and we hope to be able to use it as a powerful communications tool. It’s not just about information going out because we want people to interact with us. Now with a full social media platform and a modern website we can achieve that.”
