Calling all West region Leaders – Fancy Taking to the Water? 🌊
Are you a Leader interested in developing your skills and becoming a Sea Kayak or Inland Kayak Leader within Scouting?
Whether you’re completely new to kayaking or already have some paddling experience, this could be a great opportunity to develop new skills, gain recognised qualifications and help young people experience the excitement and adventure of kayaking.
We’re looking to hear from Leaders who are interested in getting involved, developing their paddling skills and potentially progressing through the Scouting water activities leadership pathway.
📅 When? The 2nd Sunday of each month
👨🏫 Who will be leading the sessions? Sessions will be run by an Advanced Sea Kayak Coach, providing experienced instruction, guidance and support as you develop your paddling skills.
🏕️ Sea kayaking – explore Scotland’s coastline, islands and lochs
🛶 Inland kayaking – develop skills on lochs and sheltered water
📚 Training & qualifications – support and guidance to progress within Scouting
👥 For Leaders – share the adventure and introduce young people to paddle sports
No expert experience is required – just enthusiasm, a willingness to learn and a desire to get on the water!
The sessions will provide an opportunity to build your confidence and experience over time, whether your aim is simply to improve your own paddling or to work towards becoming a qualified kayak leader within Scouting.
If you’re interested, or would simply like to find out more, get in touch and register your interest.
