Over the last two weeks five members from across the Region have ticked off the last requirement of their King’s Scout Award by presenting their journeys, challenges and successes to Scouts and Explorers.

The King’s Scout Award is the highest award available to members of the Explorer and Network sections. In their presentations, each young person reflected on the adventures they had and the skills they gained, and encouraged younger members to aim for the top awards in Scouting.

Regional Lead Volunteer Blair Ross, Paisley & District Scouts Lead Volunteer Graham Reid and newly appointed Youth Lead Hazel Marsh attended 3rd Barrhead, where Morvin, Hollie and Rhys, three of the Group’s leaders and Network members, gave their KSA presentation to the Group’s Scouts and Explorers.

At the 32nd Greenock & District, Leigh McCallum and Nathan Peaston, who are both leaders and Network members, gave their KSA presentation to the Group’s Explorers and Regional Programme Lead Meg Scott.

The King’s Scout Award takes commitment, resilience and a real willingness to take on new challenges. By sharing their journeys, they have shown our younger members what can be achieved.

Congratulations to Morvin, Hollie, Rhys, Leigh and Nathan on completing the final requirement of their King’s Scout Award, and thank you for inspiring the next generation of Scouts!
